** NZIDRS (New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarships) which has Deadline of 15 July every year. To grab it you have to start from today,as it has some long procedure which should be done in time
You apply for all the 03 scholarships simultaneously at same time and keep the ones which you win
*** One good thing about NZ universities, if you fail to get NZIDRS and University doctoral fellowship, you can freeze semester free of cost and wait for next semester to apply for university doctoral scholarship. They will consider you free of cost for competition in next semester for university doctoral scholarship. So you have good chances
===============================================
** Now what are the steps to get PhD scholarship and how to apply and how to reach it with in deadlines of New Zealand scholarships such as NZIDRS and university's doctoral scholarship
Let me explain you
1) First of all find the professor of your interest in universities in New Zealand
You can find the list here
http://en.wikipedia.org/…/List_of_universities_in_New_Zeala…
(i) How to define interest?
You can define your interest on the basis of the thesis of publications, tools, skills or research you have done in MS.
2) Try to read the professor profile and reading means read his latest papers
3) Try to see in which of his or her work you fit in and try to develop some idea relating your previous work and his current work
4) Write a brief email ( Should be best), just a little of your introduction and explaining that you read about him and especially mentioning some of his papers and mentioning about the idea which you want to work on in his/her lab. You have to show in email that you are know his work and be a suitable student for professor lab with reasons.
5) Make a Research CV, in which you mention about your previous works and projects and research work etc
(It is all about how you market yourself, make it in way thinking that you will not be infront of him to represent yourself, only CV will speak for you, so spend time on it to make it worthwhile)
You can see a sample here https://www.facebook.com/groups/scholarships.pk/777526962257864/
Now send just email with CV attached
** ****Be careful in sending emails to professors there. Spend time in reading professor profile and making email because in New Zealand universities and professors are less. So do not lose your chances with bad emails and CVs
6) New Zealand professors reply very fast if they like your profile
7) Most important, be ready with rough research proposal before applying, as professor asks instantly about research proposal if he like your profile and yes as you know research proposal should be relevant to his lab work
8) After this happens, and professor Likes you and want to take you as his/her PhD student, you then apply for admission in University as professors advises you. Professor will help you in admission. You get full or provisional admission letter from university and apply on the basis of it for NZIDRS and university own doctoral scholarships
9) You can apply for three kinds of scholarships
(i) NZIDRS (New Zealand Doctoral Scholarship)
https://enz.govt.nz/…/new-zealand-international-doctoral-re…
(Do follow the timeline for NZIDRS,as it normally has deadline 30 August, 2017). So plan your application accordingly to its deadlines
+++++++For NZIDRS, you also need to verify your degrees. Thanks to our member, Syeda Umaimah Hashmi, she gave a guide about it. Please see at the end. That degree verification from USA or UK step takes time, so you need to have finished degree verification process 20 days before 15th July.
(ii) University own Doctoral Scholarships
All universities have their own IDRS scholarships
(iii) Specific project funding in university
Are rare in New Zealand but can be found out on professor website or universities websites, if he/university is offering. But they are very less than above two scholarships.
10) IELTS/ TOEFL are compulsory/must. So do IELTS and TOEFL before contacting professors
11) Well if you get admission in university and also you get any of above scholarships , then best of luck and start your PhD
* I made this guide according to my personal experience, as I was selected as doctoral candidate in University of Auckland New Zealand (Ranked in Top 50 in Rankings), but I left it and joined another offer

Guide for verification of degree by UK Naric required for NZIDRS by Syeda Umaimah Hashami
Whenever applying for studying/working abroad, there are list of things that are taken into consideration.
But, I believe the foremost requirement is to make your qualification recognized and compared internationally.
For this, UK Naric is one of the National Agency responsible for recognizing overseas qualification and comparing its level in UK/and other states. The 'UK NARIC Statement of Comparability' is an officially recognized document that confirms the recognition of an overseas qualification and its comparable level in the UK, irrespective of it being an academic, vocational or professional award.
It is used by universities, colleges, employers and Government departments and agencies forming part of their decision-making process. a) Just Google UK Naric 'Compare Qualifications'.
b) For Statement of Comparability of your degrees, register yourself on UK Naric User Portal (http://www.ecctis.co.uk/nar…/Individuals/users/register.aspx).
c) Upon completion, email notification will be send, which will activate your account.
d) Log in and initiate the application process.
e) Write a cover letter mentioning the reason you want the 'Statement of Comparability' and your contact details.
f) Scan certificate(s) and official final transcript(s) of the degree which needs to be recognized and compared.
g) Pay for this service (several payment options will be given). (THIS IS AN ONLINE METHOD OF APPLYING, you can also post the documents on the address mentioned in the website with detailed instructions, if you opt this method). Maximally, it takes 1.5 months. The cost of the service is £46.00 + VAT* (£55.20) per application. If you are applying from an address outside of the EU, you are not required to pay VAT. Additionally, you can keep the track of your application, if you apply online.
You can make a call or email to the concerned authorities, if you have any queries related to 'TRACKING YOUR APPLICATION'.
