Some facts and figures

Scholarships for masters and training courses offer you the chance to pursue a one-year specialised master’s degree programme or a 4-to-6-month advanced training course within a higher education institution of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, Belgium.

Awards Reports and Application Procedure 
​2012 Fellowships report
The  2012 Fellowships report  shows the progress of the  activities planned under the scholarship program during 2012 , from the selection of candidates for the preparation of the 2013 program.
This was the  thirteenth year of implementation  of the Convention on Scholarships  and Internships . The experience gained over the past twelve years has served as a basis for the smooth running of the activities.
It was, in addition, the  third year  of  funding  for PhDs and doctoral students in the South, namely  doctoral, doctoral and local scholarships .
The  first part  of the report summarizes the  various procedures and procedures implemented under the scholarship program,  such as the selection of fellows, the organization of their arrival in Belgium and, in the context of international courses and internships, the results obtained by the fellows.
The  second part  is devoted to  statistics . It presents graphically the number of applications received and the number of fellows selected, in particular by country and by gender.
The  third part  concerns the  preparation of the 2013 program , and more specifically the distribution of scholarships in the framework of international courses and internships and the arrangements related to the implementation of doctoral, doctoral and local scholarships.
Finally, the  fourth part presents the  expenditures  that have been made for the proper implementation of the program.

​What financial support?
Each year, ARES grants an average of 150 scholarships as part of the master’s program, and 70 grants for training courses, to citizens from countries in the global South.
How do I submit my application?
​Would you like to submit an application form and receive a grant? Are you unsure about your eligibility?
Follow these guides :
Application Procedure 
Applying for an ARES grant is totally free. ARES does not charge fees at any stage of the application or selection process. You may inform us via e-mail at scholarships-cooperation@ares-ac.be of any problems with individuals or companies who claim to represent ARES and request any payment.
Any application form containing payment will systematically be rejected.
How do I submit a grant application?
Fill out the application form:
  • It must be carefully completed and sent to ARES (rue Royale 180, 1000 Brussels, Belgium) BY POST or EXPRESS DELIVERY SERVICE ONLY, which must have received it by 7 FEBRUARY 2020* at the latest (we do not take into consideration the postmarked date; we only consider application files received on our offices by the deadline, at the latest);
  • NO return receipt for applications will be signed nor delivered;
  • Only applications presented on the relevant forms will be considered, in the language in which the training course is given;
  • All elements necessary for the application file (application form AND additional information requested) must be included in the same mailing AND correctly stapled or bound so that no documents are lost. No additional elements for the application sent later will be considered;
  • All applicants selected and on reserve status will receive an e-mail when selections are made (June 2020). Applicants who are not selected will receive an e-mail by the end of June 2020 at the latest;
  • Documents submitted to ARES will not be returned to applicants;
  • No response will be given to applications that do not follow the admissibility criteria clearly mentioned on the website (certified diploma, age, professional experience, etc.).

  • Stage en valorisation des ressources secondaires pour une construction durable
  • Stage en contrôle de qualité et assurance qualité des médicaments et produits de santé

Hello Madam/sir My name is Ruth Mansueto. I'm from Lupot Sabang Danao City Cebu 6004 Philippines. I am now a 1st year college taking up a Education which is Bachelor of Elementary Education. now I am looking forward doing my bachelor degree in Belgium because I have a relatives in there. But Due to the financial problem my mother is only a street vendor while my father is a construction worker their salary is not enough to sustain my needs in school. we can't able to afford to pay for my education to the higher level to bachelor degree.

Moreover,my financial situation is gettijg worse. I am looking forward to becoming a International Teacher but without assistance I would never be able to accomplish my dreams in life. thats why I am applying to the fully funded scholarship iin Belgium.

Dear sir/Madam,
My name is Banding dampha.Am from a country called the Gambia.Am a this year Graduate,2019 from an institution called Nusrat senior secondary school,Now am looking forward to doing my bachelor degree in Art as a field.But due to my financial constraint am un able to afford to pay for my education to the higer level to bachelor degree.
Moreover,My financial situation has gotten worse.Because my Mother she is also unwell she can not do hard jobs which may affect her condition of Health.Secondly, my Father who was my support in life,who would sponsor my education. Was sick for more than 6 months and died before I could get access to my final result WASSCE.
In nutshell, I am appalling for assistance,I am appalling for full funded Scholarship any were I can get access to it,Any institution or any Organisations am appalling for assistance towards famil achieving my aims in life.I am looking forward to becoming an INTERNATIONAL LAWYER.But without assistance never would I be able to accomplish my dreams in life
